Recent job: Unusual Sub Zero EMERGENCY AT 11 PM

Recent Job: Unusual Sub Zero Emergency at 11 PM

This is our the most recent Sub Zero job our engineers worked on and that was a very interesting case. A new client reached us at 9 pm 2 days ago and requested an emergency Sub Zero repair service for his two fridges, which broke down both at the same time. Very unusual, but nothing special.

Our specialists visited the client and the first thing they noticed was the worst mistake that can be done in the kitchen. A large Lacanche oven was installed next to the fridges. Both fridges were assessed and required deep fan cleaning, it was clear that both fridges were not serviced for a long time and got overheated.

The engineers performed the Sub Zero fan cleaning service within the next hour and started both fridges with no issue, however it was strongly recommended to relocate both fridges to avoid further emergencies. The owner said that he needs some time to plan the relocation, we respect that and will help him as soon as he makes his desicion.

Recent job: AGA oven regular servicing

Recent Job: AGA Oven Regular Servicing

The problem explained: Early in March we received a request for a regular service of an AGA oven.
Investigation: The assessment showed that the oven is in a good condition but only because the owners look after it and take regular care.
Solution: Our AGA engineers provided a careful cleaning of the interior and exterior parts of the oven, checked the main parts, performed the diagnostic of the working process and made sure that there are no hidden issues, which may curse some emergencies later. After the service we also suggested to give us a call a year later, so we could repeat the checkup and service.
Summary: If you are also an owner of the luxury appliance, we strongly recommend to look after it on the regular basis but not once in five years. The regular checkup will definitely extend the life period of your appliance and save you a lot of money on the deep cleaning and fixing or changing the spare parts.

However, if your AGA oven is already broken, feel free to visit our AGA repair service page.

Common Wolf Stove Faults

While Wolf stoves are highly reliable and typically run without any issues for years, some faults may still happen. In this post, we will discuss Common Wolf stove faults that you can fix yourself and issues that require professional Wolf stove repair.

Common Wolf stove faults you can fix yourself

These faults are typically related to routine maintenance, cleaning, and simple adjustments. It is easy to solve most of them without even special training and tools.

Clogged burner ports

If your gas Wolf oven has a flame smaller than usual, it can be because of the burner ports get clogged. To clarify, clogging blocks normal gas output, so flame becomes less intensive and the oven itself – less efficient.

Fortunately, this issue is easy to fix by cleaning the burner ports.

Glitchy displays

Sometimes, Wolf oven display may get blank, frozen, or even show an error code such as, for example:
  • PF (power failure)
  • CHECKSUM (corrupted memory)

Try to fix the glitchy display yourself by resetting the unit – simply switch off its circuit breaker for a minute and then switch it back on. Typically, this helps in 90 of the cases. If the display still glitches, you will need professional help.

Common Wolf stove faults that require professional repair

These issues typically are minor ones and result from aging or wear and tear of the specific Wolf oven component. So, an engineer can fix them within 30–60 minutes.

Faulty temperature sensor

If you notice your food cooks unevenly or burns, a faulty temperature sensor may be to blame. To clarify, this fault is typically detected in units of 8–9 years and older. To clarify, the temperature sensor naturally changes resistance over a few hundred heating cycles.

Typically, sensor replacement takes just about 15–20 minutes by a trained engineer.

Worn or damaged door sealing

If you notice that your door is not tight and heat is escaping away, it is typically because your oven door seal is worn out or damaged. To clarify, seals may naturally degrade after 2–4 years of intensive use if not maintained properly.

According to the safety protocol per Wolf manual, it is recommended to turn to a professional repair service to fix the issue. Typically, door seal replacement takes around 15–20 minutes.

If you are facing these or any other issues with your Wolf oven, count on our efficient help. Our engineers are fully licensed and can deal even with gas issues.

Quick guide on air con checkup before summer

Quick Guide on Air Con Checkup Before Summer

A good air con checkup before summer is your key to ensuring its correct running and efficient operation during the season.

Here is a quick guide on air con checkup before summer with a list of tasks you can do yourself and an overview of what to expect from a professional tune-up.

DIY checkup list

Here are the tasks you can handle without any special tools or technical knowledge:
  • Run a test cycle
  • Clear debris around the outdoor unit
  • Clean or replace air filters
  • Check vent openings

To clarify, running a test cycle enables you to check that the system operates properly, providing cold air as it should, and to ensure the cycles are not erratic. If you detect an issue that you cannot resolve with cleaning, turn to qualified engineers for a professional air conditioner repair.
For proper airflow, the outdoor condenser needs at least 2 feet of clear space around it – no leaves, branches, grass, or any plants. For the top performance, you need a clean air filter as a clogged filter restricts airflow and makes your AC work harder. Also, for normal running, the system needs open vents, because closed or blocked vent openings can increase pressure in the ductwork and cause leaks.

Professional checkup list

A professional checkup goes deeper, focusing on internal components that require specialised knowledge, training, and tools:
  • Inspecting electrical components
  • Lubricating moving parts
  • Checking refrigerant levels and refilling, if necessary
  • Checking the ductwork for leaks
  • Deep coil cleaning

When turning to professional HVAC engineers, you can expect them to check the capacitor and inspect and tighten electrical connections to ensure efficient running and prevent risks of electrocution.
Besides, while you can clean the unit outside, a technician can access and chemically clean the indoor evaporator coils and drain line, which are a magnet for dust and can lose efficiency if grimy.

To sum up, the DIY tasks listed above are the minimum that you should undertake to prepare your air con for the summer season. However, it is worth engaging professional F-Gas certified engineers to prepare an air con in the best possible way.

Start preparing your BBQ for the summer season

Start preparing your BBQ for the summer season

Although there are still a few months until summer, it is high time to think about preparing your BBQ for the summer season. In short, we recommend breaking the process down into a few key steps – thorough inspection, deep cleaning, and oiling as finishing touches before your first grill.

Thorough inspection

Safety is king. Therefore, it's crucial first to make sure your grill is safe to use. To ensure this, inspect your BBQ, both the exterior and under the hood, for possible fire hazards:
  • Web or insect nests
  • Grease buildup
  • BBQ damage or worn-out parts

In case you find any of the mentioned issues, clean the appliance or repair it, what is applicable.

If you have a gas BBQ, take a few extra steps to detect issues with its gas system:
  • Inspect the hoses for cracks
  • Check for tight connections
  • Test for gas leaks
  • Test the ignition

In case you find any of the issues, contact our Gas Safe engineer to fix it. If you do not have enough expertise to undertake gas-safety assessment, turn to us.

In some cases it is very easy to clean your bbq or grill appliance, however we still recommend to turn to a professional company for that job, so your appliance serve you longer. For more information visit any of these two pages: grill repair page or barbecue repair service.

Deep cleaning

Deep cleaning is not only about your safety but about the appliance performance and your future cookout taste.

Here is a brief guide on what your BBQ cleaning activities should include:
  • Removing old ashes from the bottom of the bowl
  • Soaking and scrubbing the grates
  • Cleaning the burner (for gas grills)
  • Cleaning or replacing the grease tray (if any)
  • Clean the exterior, including the lid and control knobs

For cleaning, use soapy water or a non-abrasive cleaner, applicable for your type of grill.

BBQ and Grill brands we can help you with

Wolf Grill Repair
AGA Grill Repair
BeefEater Grill Repair

Grate oiling

To prevent your BBQ and grates from excessive rusting, do not neglect their oiling. To clarify, oiling creates a non-stick surface and helps prevent rust.

For oiling, apply high-heat cooking oil (for example, grapeseed or vegetable oil) on the grates, the insides of the cookbox and even the lid. Then, close the lid and run your BBQ at high heat for 20-30 minutes. This burns off excess oil and creates a polymerised surface on your BBQ components. As a result, food won't stick to your BBQ grates or cookbox. Besides, the polymerised oil creates a good barrier against rust.

So, by taking all these steps to prepare your grill for the summer season, you will get a safe, well-running appliance and can enjoy delicious cookouts without any hassle.

Every year, we service hundreds of coffee machines in London. This gives us unique insight into the models that are most popular in London homes, offices, cafes, and restaurants.

Based on our experience, De'Longhi is a household favourite. These coffee machines are renowned for their user-friendly automation and great performance. With integrated grinders and one-touch drink programmes, their Magnifica and Dinamica series offer bean-to-cup convenience. Due to the patented capsule technology, these coffeemakers are the champions of speed and consistency. One of their most convenient features is a closed system, which means less internal cleaning for the user. Models like Vertuo use barcode-reading for automatic drink sizing and spin-brewing to create a rich crema.

Smeg

Smeg stylish espresso machines are the popular choice for those who prioritise iconic design and aesthetics. Their ECF series offers a semi-automatic experience, pairing 1950s-inspired style with features like a pressure gauge and a commercial-style steam wand.

Most popular commercial coffee machine brands

La Marzocco

These traditional espresso machines with outstanding performance are a common choice for speciality coffee shops. They are considered as the gold standard, especially in the speciality coffee sector. The range can cover all needs, starting from Linea Classic/PB for high-volume operations of busy cafés and restaurants and ending with GS3, a compact, high-end single-group machine perfect for smaller venues or businesses wanting top quality in a smaller space.

How to choose the best barbeque in 2026

How to choose the best barbeque in 2026

When choosing your best barbeque, your decision factors should include your BBQ priorities, cooking style, storage needs budget for upfront (purchase) and running costs.

Types of grills

Before diving into the question of how to choose the best barbeque, let’s discuss the grill range itself. Below we describe existing types of grilling appliances:
  • Charcoal grills – Use charcoal. Made from steel. Relatively lightweight. Provides a classic, smoky flavour. Offer the ritual of lighting and managing the fire as a part of the experience. Require minimal grill repair
  • Gas grills – Use gas. Made from steel. Relatively lightweight. Start instantly, heats evenly, offers precise temperature control
  • Pellet grills – Use wood pellets. Made from steel. Relatively lightweight. Provides a classic, smoky flavour. Can operate like an outdoor oven.
  • Kamado grills – Use charcoal. Made from ceramic. Heavy. Retains heat superbly. Can operate like an outdoor oven.
  • Electric grills – Use electricity. Made from steel. Relatively lightweight. Has no open flame. Start and heats quickly.

Consider your BBQ priorities

When taking into account BBQ priorities, there could be the following options:
  • For quick results, convenience, top control, and easy cleaning – gas or electric grill
  • For authentic smoky flavour and traditional ritual – charcoal, pellet, or kamado grill
  • For maximum versatility (grilling, roasting, and baking) – pellet or kamado grill
  • For using in enclosed spaces – electric grill

Consider your cooking style

When considering your cooking style, there could be the following options:
  • To enjoy the ritual – charcoal or kamado grill
  • To get the food with minimal effort – gas or electric grill

Consider storage needs

When taking into account storage needs, there could be the following options:
  • No need to store it away – any type of grill (a protective cover is recommended)
  • Need to store it away – electric and small gas grill (lightweight, foldable, or with wheels)

Consider upfront and running costs

When considering upfront and running costs, there could be the following options:
  • Focus on low upfront costs – charcoal kettles and electric grill
  • Focus on low running costs – gas grill
  • If premium price and high running costs are affordable – pellet and kamado grill
Note that after choosing the most suitable barbeque type, consider the grilling capacity of the unit (grill size) measured in square inches of cooking area. The size should fit your number of people you usually cook for. However, you may need to compromise on the barbeque size if you have space restraints.

Top domestic ovens in 2026 by LEC rating

At LE Company, we possess unique insight into the ovens London homes choose for their kitchens. The 2025 top we present now is not a traditional "best-of" list. It is a brand performance ranking based on how often we install, service, or see these brands in client projects, correlated to their reliability according to repair frequency.

Gaggenau

Gaggenau ovens are a common choice for those who appreciate a professional minimalist look combined with cutting-edge technology. While we install, service, and see a lot of Gaggenau ovens in the kitchens of our customers, we receive far fewer requests for Gaggenau repairs in London. And this is the best proof of the high reliability and durability the brand provides.

La Cornue

La Cornue ovens are less common than Gaggenau due to their custom nature. However, they are unmatched in perceived value and artisanal craftsmanship. These ovens are an excellent choice for those who want to enjoy the ultimate bespoke statement in their kitchens. Indeed, the manufacturer creates a unique, heirloom-quality centerpiece that defines the entire kitchen.

Miele

Miele ovens are the benchmark for smart homes and are highly valued by those who prefer the extra benefits that remote control provides. Indeed, the manufacturer offers the innovative suite of connected kitchen appliances backed by proven durability. However, we often see Miele ovens even in homes that do not utilize smart home integration. Such a choice their owners explain by the trust that the brand creates due to the long-term performance of its ovens and after-sales service.

Lacanche

Lacanche ovens are an ideal choice for those who are looking for a truly authentic cooking experience. Designed as commercial-grade cooking equipment that homes can utilise and enjoy, these ovens offer French professional chef heritage. Due to the material quality, which stainless steel, brass, and cast iron feature, these ovens feature great reliability and longevity.

So, as we can conclude based on our experience, ovens of premium brands such as Gaggenau, La Cornue, Miele, and Lacanche are the tops when it comes to reliability, longevity, authentic cooking experience or bespoke artistry and heritage.

How to choose a good Air Conditioner in 2026

How to choose a good Air Conditioner in 2026

Now, everyone knows that a good air conditioner is one that has got the correct sizing. In other words, the unit should meet your needs and be sufficient for the square metres it is to cool. This is about a BTU/kW ratio.

Also, it is widely known that a good air conditioner is one that features high energy efficiency (A+ and better) and a long-term lifespan. So you do not need to spend tons of money on cooling or air con repair.

But for those who live in the UK in general, and especially in London, it’s worth considering some other factors.

Choose the right AC system

Your property type may determine the possible air conditioning type. Also, consider whether planning permission is required and whether you can get it.

Here are examples of recommended options for different premises:
  • For standalone houses – multi-split or ducted systems
  • For listed buildings or conservation areas – fully internal water-cooled systems
  • For flats – fully internal systems (all-in-one monoblocs, water-cooled, or portable AC)

To clarify, modern flats or premises in listed buildings or conservation areas may have leaseholder restrictions on external units and lack outdoor space. For installation of split systems in flats, you may first need to get planning permission from the building management company or leaseholder. Installation of systems with an external unit in a listed building may involve getting consent from your local planning authority. All this makes fully internal water-cooled AC systems a better option.

Choose a quiet, dual-capability unit

For any premises, and especially for studios and other compact flats, it is wise to consider how many dB an AC unit produces. To clarify, compact flats are highly sensitive to noise, and loud air conditioner can make you feel very uneasy instead of comfortable. So, choose a unit with quiet operation – for example, within 27-34dB.

Another important factor to consider is cooling/heating capability of the unit. In the UK, and in London especially, specific climate conditions make both cooling and heating features demanded. In other words, a good air conditioner is one that can provide you with a year-round comfort, both when it is hot and cold outside.

In conclusion, to choose a good air conditioner, consider its sizing, energy efficiency, lifespan, type, noise level, and dual heating/cooling capability.

Why Your Oven Won’t Heat Up – Common Causes and Solutions

Why Oven Won’t Heat Up And What To Do
Few things are as frustrating as preparing to cook a meal only to find your oven won’t heat up. Whether you rely on your oven at home or in a commercial kitchen, a heating failure can cause real disruption. That’s why many Londoners turn to LE Company for fast, reliable emergency oven repairs to get their appliances back in action.

Common Reasons Your Oven Won’t Heat

1. Faulty Heating Element
The heating element is responsible for generating heat inside the oven. If it burns out, the oven may not heat at all, or only partially. You might notice visible damage such as blistering or breaks in the element.

2. Broken Thermostat
The thermostat regulates the oven’s temperature. When it fails, the oven may not heat up or may overheat, causing uneven cooking results.

3. Defective Igniter (Gas Ovens)
For gas ovens, a faulty igniter can prevent the gas from lighting, leaving the oven cold. A weak igniter may also delay heating and cause performance issues.

4. Faulty Fan or Motor
In fan-assisted ovens, a broken fan or motor can stop hot air from circulating properly. This often leads to heat not building up or food cooking unevenly.

5. Electrical Issues
Tripped circuits, blown fuses, or faulty wiring can prevent an oven from receiving power. These are issues best diagnosed and repaired by a qualified engineer.

If you’re experiencing problems, booking a professional SMEG oven repair is the safest and most effective way to restore your appliance.
SMEG oven issues

Common SMEG Oven Problems

1. Oven Not Heating
A faulty heating element is one of the most common causes of SMEG ovens failing to heat up. This can affect both fan and conventional models.

2. Uneven Cooking
If your oven isn’t cooking evenly, the fan or thermostat may be malfunctioning, leading to hot and cold spots inside the oven.

3. Faulty Thermostat
When the thermostat fails, the oven can overheat, underheat, or fail to reach the set temperature.

4. Door Seal Damage
A worn or broken door seal allows heat to escape, reducing efficiency and cooking performance.

5. Electrical Issues
Faulty wiring, blown fuses, or control panel malfunctions can prevent your SMEG oven from turning on or operating correctly.

Why You Should Act Quickly

Delaying repairs can cause further damage to your SMEG oven, increase energy usage, and disrupt your household routine. Quick action helps protect your appliance and ensures safe, efficient cooking.

Why Your SMEG Fridge Might Not Be Cooling Properly

A SMEG fridge is both stylish and functional, but like all appliances, it can sometimes develop faults. One of the most common problems SMEG owners face is when the fridge stops cooling or the temperature becomes inconsistent. If you’re dealing with this issue, getting expert SMEG fridge repair is the fastest way to restore your appliance’s performance.

Why you should act quickly
Why choose LE Company for SMEG fridge repairs

Final thoughts

Common Reasons for Cooling Problems

1. Faulty Thermostat
A broken or inaccurate thermostat can prevent your SMEG fridge from reaching the correct temperature. This leads to warm food storage conditions and spoiled produce.

2. Blocked Air Vents
If the vents are obstructed, cold air cannot circulate properly. Overloading the fridge or blocking airflow with large items often causes this.

3. Dirty Condenser Coils
Dust and dirt build-up on condenser coils reduce the fridge’s ability to release heat, making the cooling system work harder and less effectively.

4. Defective Compressor
The compressor is the heart of your fridge. When it fails, the entire cooling process is disrupted. This is a job only a qualified engineer should handle.

5. Door Seal Problems
Worn or damaged seals allow warm air to enter the fridge, which forces the appliance to work overtime without maintaining the correct temperature.

How to Clean a Neff Oven

How to clean a Neff oven
Proper and timely Neff oven cleaning is a must. Indeed, a soiled oven looks ugly. Besides, the grease produces an unpleasant odor that intensifies with heating and spoils the dishes taste.

As the appliance may feature a pyrolytic cleaning mode or a hiding door, there are some nuances on how to clean a Neff oven, which we will discuss in this article. If you need professional care for your Neff, turn to our Neff oven cleaning service.

Table of contents

  • Important nuances for Neff oven cleaning with a pyrolytic cleaning
  • How to clean a Neff oven with a pyrolytic cleaning
  • How to clean the Neff oven door
  • Tips for cleaning a Neff Slide and Hide oven
  • Conclusion

Important nuances for Neff oven cleaning with a pyrolytic cleaning

Note, a pyrolytic cleaning mode is not for frequent usage as heavy heating makes an appliance run at an extra load. Here is an approach we recommend for Neff oven cleaning:

  • Wiping the interior with damp cloth after every usage
  • Deep cleaning once a month or when required
  • Pyrolytic cleaning no more than once a year

Note, abrasive cleaners are not safe for the oven’s enamel. In our practice, we had a lot of inquiries for oven repair in London and other UK areas where the clients need to restore the enamel hurt by using abrasive cleaners. Besides, even the smallest scratch helps the spill to stick better to the surface and makes it harder to remove the spill.

How to clean a Neff oven with a pyrolytic cleaning

1. Prepare your appliance for the cleaning:
  • Make sure the oven is properly cooled down
  • Remove the cooking ware, if any
  • Remove the backing racks, shelf supports, or rails
  • Remove the water tank (for steam ovens)
  • Wipe the cavity with a damp cloth to get rid surface grease

2. Select the Neff Pyrolytic cleaning level according to with your needs:
  • Level 1 – Recommended when there are just small and thin islands of spills. Takes around 1 hour 15 minutes.
  • Level 2 – Recommended when the spills cover most of the oven cavity inside in a thin layer. Takes around 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Level 3 – Recommended when the spills cover all or most of the cavity inside in a thick layer. Takes around 2 hours.
Step-by-Step Cleaning Process of Neff Oven
Step by step professional Neff oven cleaning process that we suggest to perform to keep your oven in a good condition.

How to clean the Neff oven door

How to clean between glass on neff oven door without taking apart
Clean the door, after every baking or steaming to get rid of fresh grease and prevent its buildup:
  1. Make the inside glass is warm but not hot
  2. Open the door to the convenient position
  3. Wipe the inside glass and its enamel frame (if any) with a damp cloth
  4. Close the door and wipe the exterior with a damp cloth

Along with deep cavity cleaning, take a deep door cleaning to get rid of stubborn baked grease:
  1. Pre-heat the oven so that the inside glass is warm but not hot
  2. Open and leave the door at the floor-paralleled position
  3. Wipe the inside glass and its enamel frame with a damp cloth
  4. Apply an approved cleaner to the inside glass and its frame
  5. Leave it for 15-20 minutes
  6. Scrap the inside glass with the cooktop scraper
  7. Remove residues with a damp cloth
  8. Close the door and wipe the exterior with a damp cloth

Typically, the space between the glass layers is sufficiently sealed, and no grease gets there. If you detected dirt between your Neff oven door glass, turn to professional servicing to fix the problem. There is no way to clean it without taking apart, but door disassembling is too risky for DIY. Besides, having a dirt between glass means there are issues with sealing, which requires expert assistance.

Tips for cleaning a Neff Slide and Hide oven

Cleaning a Neff Slide&Hide oven shares all the nuances and steps we discussed above. The only extra question one may have on how to clean a Neff slide and hide oven is about some extras on cleaning its distinguishing door.

Here are some tips on Neff Slide&Hide oven door cleaning:
  • For regular cleaning, no door detaching is required at all. Just hold on the door in the open position.
  • Deep door cleaning with an approved cleaner is also possible without door detaching. Just slide out the door out of its hiding compartment.
  • We do not recommend DIY door glass disassembling. Contacting an experienced technician is a better option.

If you did remove the door and how is re-installing it, do not miss the right slot, which is located in the washer on the rolling rails.
What to Use vs What to Avoid Cleaning Neff Oven
What to use and what to avoid when perform cleaning of your Neff oven.

Conclusion

To conclude, we have only one piece of advice. Cleaning a Neff oven after each usage helps to avoid grease and stubborn spill buildup and saves time you will have to spend on deep cleaning in the future.

Note, this article provides only basic information about how to clean a Neff oven. It is a must to refer to your user manual as it contains the guidance for your specific oven model.

The machine is not frothing

Sage repair
Of course, when you want to enjoy a cup of latte, failing to get a rich milk texture is a highly unpleasant experience. Fortunately, the issue is not a serious one. The possible causes here are as follows:
  • The steam wand is blocked with buildups
  • The tank steam pressure is affected by the scale

In both cases, you can troubleshoot it yourself. Just clean the steam wand in the first case or descale the tank in the second one.

The pressure gauge is condensing up

Sometimes, the owners of Sage coffee machines have complaints about the pressure gauge starts condensing. Typically, this fault does not affect its brewing functions. However, it may cause some difficulties in having precise control over brewing.

In general, condensing is the result of poor sealing in the gauge. Therefore, the remedy here is to replace the pressure gauge. The task is not for DIY but to entrust to professionals like our skilled and experienced engineers.

Low pressure

To tell the truth, low pressure is the most serious fault among all we mentioned here as it involves extraction problems. In other words, if your Sage produces low pressure, it produces poor brewing or no brewing at all.

Typically, the cause here is a broken solenoid valve. The only solution here is to replace the valve. In this case, turn to us, Sage repair experts. We can fix it in just one go, so you will soon be able to enjoy great Espresso shots.
