Sub Zero’s poor cooling and display error code flashing

Mrs Williams was fond of her Sub Zero refrigerator but forgot to provide it with proper service. She never thought its flawless running could have got any relationship with cleaning and other maintenance measures. That is to say, she took its great performance for granted and considered maintenance as a sort of a myth. Therefore, the woman was unpleasantly surprised when she saw “EE service” error code was flashing on her fridge display. Yes, sometimes she noticed her fridge wasn’t cooling the way it used to do. But she paid little attention to it for the time being.

And then, time has come to think seriously about repairing measures. She began to search someone who can fix the problems and came across our Sub Zero Repair page. So, she called us and arranged the visit of our engineer.

Cleaning, refilling, replacement

This call out was not a simple one as we had to resolve so many issues:

• clean the condenser coil
• refill Freon
• replace the thermistor

First of all, the engineer took up condenser coil. Cleaning it should be a part of Sub Zero maintenance. Unfortunately, this condenser coil was neglected for more than ten years. In other words, it was very dirty. So, the engineer cleaned them.

Secondly, when he opened the fridge cover, he discovered frost build up on the capillary tube. This was the main cause the appliance didn’t cool well. In turn, it resulted from the fridge being low on Freon. So, our Sub Zero expert melt the frost, checked the Freon, and refilled it.

However, the error code didn’t stop flashing. Usually, this is due to shorted thermistor. Therefore, the engineer checked thermistor condition to identify shorted one and then replaced it. Thus, the fridge’s performance was restored and Mrs Williams was able to enjoy flawless refrigeration again.
