Rational Oven Error Codes Explained
In any sophisticated appliance, and in Rational ovens specifically, error codes are one of the most helpful things to learn what issue this unit is encountering now. However, error codes vary significantly between manufacturers and even between different appliance models. So, to understand what’s happened to your exact appliance, you need to know the error codes of this exact manufacturer.
In this post, we will explain a few Rational oven error codes, which are flashing in the kitchens of our customers most frequently.
iCombi Pro Error Codes
When it comes to the iCombi Pro (or the SelfCooking Center as its older version), the common issues are related to CleanJet® and humidity control. At LE Company, we classify the Service 25 and Service 30 as the most common error codes our customers encounter with their SelfCooking Centers.
However, sometimes, gas issues also occur. Please note, if you ever need our help, you can always visit our Rational oven repair page and send us your request.
Service 25
The Service 25 error code appears when the CleanJet® fails to function correctly. Typically, this error code flashes during the cycle and indicates there may be an issue with a water supply, filter or some blockage that you can fix yourself.
If you are facing Service 25 but can’t fix the issue yourself, you can continue using the appliance, but only for limited runs. Avoid heavy or prolonged use until the fault is rectified.

Service 30
The Service 30 error code appears when there is some issue with humidity control. If you are facing this error code, no DIY fixes are possible unless you are an engineer with expertise in Rational ovens. The cause here is a faulty humidity or temperature sensor, which may be defective or require calibration. Only a professional has both knowledge ad tools to handle the task.
Note, with Service 30 error code, it is possible to continue using the unit for cooking, but only to a limited extent.

Service 32
The Service 32 error code indicates unsuccessful ignition and appears when there is a problem with the gas system. Please note, if you see this error code, stop using the appliance, shut off the gas tap, and contact the Customer Service Center or professional Gas-Safe engineers immediately.

VarioCooking Center Error Codes
When it comes to the VarioCooking Center, the common issues are related to core temperature probe, pan valve drive, or cover drive system. At LE Company, we classify the Service 100 (Service 101), Service 230 (Service 231) and Service 252 as the most common error codes our customers encounter with their VarioCooking Centers.
Service 100 (Service 101)
The Service 100 (or Service 101) error code appears when there is an issue with the core temperature probe. The Service 100 error code indicates there is an issue with the temperature probe for left-hand pan. The Service 101 error code indicates there is an issue with the temperature probe for right-hand pan.
With the Service 100 or Service 101 error codes, you can still use the right-hand pan or the left-hand pan of the appliance, respectively.
However, as using just one pan halves the unit’s output, we recommend arranging a repair without delay. The cause here is the faulty left / right pan core temperature probe. Here, there are no user-serviceable solutions – it is a job for an expert with proper knowledge and tools.

Service 230 (Service 231)
The Service 230 (or Service 231) error code appears when there is an issue with the pan valve drive. These error codes indicate, respectively, an issue with the left-hand or right-hand valve drive.
If you see Service 230 or Service 231 error code flashing, you can still use another pan without any limitation – the right-hand pan or the left-hand pan, respectively.
However, as running in single-pan mode negatively affects your kitchen capacity, we recommend fixing the issue as soon as possible. Typically, the cause here is the faulty left / right pan valve drive, which needs replacement. Such replacement is not a DIY task but a job for an expert.

Service 252
The error code Service 252 appears when there is an issue with the cover drive system. Typically, the problem affects both right-hand and left-hand pans. So, no further usage is possible until an engineer fixes the issue.
The nature of the Service 252 error code is highly complicated and always requires professional attention. Here is just some of the most likely causes we at LE Company have already dealt with:
